Acadiana Christian School plans to start school in August, in a five day per week schedule while in phase two of the state re-opening plan.
|Dear ACS Families, |
As we are preparing to go back to school in a few weeks, I know you are all curious as to what school will look like. I know that many of you have been waiting for me to send out our 2020 Reopening & Infection Prevention Plan. To view the plan, click here.
We will be starting school with face-to-face instruction (on campus) as planned in August. Please click here to view the school calendar and your child’s specific start date. We do realize that this will directly impact some of our families that will be relying on bus transportation.
However, as we have proceeded in the past, transportation when the public schools are not in session will be the responsibility of the parents. If not having bus transportation adversely affects your family, we apologize for the inconvenience. We do expect to have bus transportation like normal when the Iberia Public Schools open.
*NEW: We will also be offering a virtual option and the specific details pertaining to what that will look like (for those that choose it) will be sent out later this week.
*NEW: Parents needing early morning drop off (7:15-7:45 am) must receive special permission due to restrictions from COVID-19. To apply for Early Morning Drop Off Special Permission, click here.
*NEW: We are happy to announce that we will also be offering aftercare this year to students in 7th-10th grades (which will serve as an after school study hall for them – where they can do homework and study). To register for Aftercare (grades K-10th), click here.
*NEW: We will have Virtual Orientations for parents next week. During this time, we will discuss upcoming events, changes for this year, and I will be answering any questions you may have. Families with students in grades 7th-12th will be sent a Zoom link (in a separate email) for their grade specific orientation that will be held on Monday, August 10th @ 6pm via Zoom. Families with students in grades K-6th will be sent a Zoom link (in a separate email) for their grade specific orientation that will be held on Tuesday, August 11th @ 6pm via Zoom.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming virtual parent orientations and at the supply drop off on August 11th from 10am-2pm. I thank you all for your patience as we are determining the best ways for us to stay safe as a school community while still being able to do “school”.
