In a special weekly series, ACS will feature a faculty member. We asked questions about why they are passionate about the subjects they study and teach, and how they found their path to ACS.
Faculty Spotlight: Mr. CJ Pollard
What is your educational background?
I am from Patterson, LA. I graduated from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences.
What inspired you to teach?
Mrs. Monique Sanchez inspired me to teach because she is passionate and very motivated to the mission statement “Reaching Students, Building Lives.”
What do you love about teaching at ACS?
I love the influence that’s given directly into the lives of the students. The responsibility that’s given to us as teachers is unbelievable. I believe there’s no greater opportunity than to have influence into the lives of the current generation.
What do you hope students gain from being in your class?
I hope students gain the belief that a teacher can sincerely care for them as well as enjoy teaching the material being taught.
Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself!
I view growing as a person as one of the funnest things I could do besides hanging out with people. An interesting fact about me would be my desire to pastor people of all stages of life.
If you could have dinner with three people, alive or not, who would they be and why?
- Billy Graham because he was an American evangelist who preached to live audiences of 210 million people in more than 185 countries and territories through various meetings, including BMS World Mission and Global Mission. He was able to inspire so many people with his anointing and his integrity.
- Craig Groeschel because he is a leadership expert, who teaches on growth, discipline, and values.
- Aaliyah Pollard because I wouldn’t want to do life without her.
